Sundarbon after 'SIDR' in 2007

In 15th November, 2007 a cyclone destroy the south-est part of Bangladesh.The cyclone is called 'SIDR'.
.
On this day in 15th November, Bangladesh affected by  the cyclone named SIDR. The water level come up 12ft in general situation The affected area are 20 District and 200 Sub-District.But the Sundarbon protect the cyclone and water level in two District Khulna and Satkhira and the small part of Bagerhat District. In the other part of Bagerhat named Saronkhola and other 17 District affected by SIDR in large amount.       





After SIDR the Sundarban are destroy in large area.

Visit Sundarbon

About Sundarban :
Sundarban is the largest mangrove forest in the southwest part of BANGLADESH.

 The total area of Sundarbans are nearly 240 sq. miles or 3600 sq. km.
The area is bounded in the north by Bagerhat, Khulna and Satkhira districts, in the south by the Bay of Bengal, in the east by Baleswar (or Haringhata) river, Perojpur, Barisal district, and in the west by Raimangal and Hariabhanga rivers which partially form Bangladesh boundary with West Bengal in India.In Fig we see the total area of Sundarbans.
 

Sundarban is very beautiful for its natural growth of trees, animal and other resources.
Deer are often seen to graze in this field. 
 Here we see the small canal. 
Many canal are found in Sundarbon.

When the water is down in the canal then crocodiles are see in this place.
